About Tsunami Dance

TDC was co-founded by Erin Healan and Kettye Voltz in 2002.

Our mutual goal was to raise the bar of modern dance locally and help to build a community that could support professional dance. We felt that a strong company could satisfy the needs of dancers and audiences alike by providing local dancers with professional opportunities and local audiences with a dance company they could embrace for its caliber of work.

Over the past eight years TDC presented the choreography of Kettye Voltz, Erin Healan, John Allen, Nicole Boyd-Buckels, Michaela Cannon, Diogo De Lima Jeffery Gunshol, Scott Heron, Maritza Mercado-Narcisse, Anna Morris, and Tierney St John. Collaborators have included local musicians The Quaalords, Morella and the Wheels Of If and visual and media artists Denny Juge, Jeff Louviere, Vanessa Brown, Ryan Dufrene, and Andrew Wade Smith.

In 2010 Tsunami disbanded the company and is currently working on a project to project basis with New Orleans artists. Upcoming projects include Houston Fringe Festival August 26^th-28^th. Participants include Kettye Voltz, John Allen, Cristine Barona, Maggie Lynch, and Mary Glackmeyer.
